Junior & Cie General Terms and Conditions of Sale
These Terms and Conditions are specific to the Junior & Cie service (2 January 2026).
Customers can purchase the Junior & Cie service:
- online at https://juniorcie.sncf-connect.com/
- by telephone on 36 35 and enter #47 (free service + price of a call, excluding any operator surcharges, open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00).
The Customer may book the Junior & Cie service no earlier than 3 months and no later than 4 days before the date of travel.
Booking the Junior & Cie service includes the simultaneous purchase of the ticket for the dates and journeys chosen and the accompanying travel package.
Junior & Cie can only be booked for direct journeys, with no connections. If the Customer books 2 consecutive journeys, the Junior & Cie service will not provide transport to the station and cannot be held responsible in the event of a missed connection, particularly in the event of a delay in the first train which would prevent the child from boarding the next train.
The Junior & Cie service is available in the form of a Junior & Cie e-ticket, which includes the child's ticket and the Junior & Cie accompanying pass.
2.1. Characteristics of the Junior & Cie e-ticket
The Junior & Cie e-ticket is personal, individual and non-transferable.
As the Junior & Cie e-ticket is a paperless ticket, it does not have to be validated before boarding the train. It is only valid for the designated train, date, class and route.
It is exchangeable and/or refundable in accordance with the conditions of exchange and refund set out in these General Terms and Conditions.
In the event of non-compliance with any of the above rules, the Junior & Cie e-ticket will be considered invalid.
When the amount of an e-ticket exceeds the sum of 1,500 Euros, the Traveller or the person purchasing the e-ticket expressly waives the provisions of article 1341 of the French Civil Code and, in particular, the requirement that the contract be a deed concluded before a notary or under private seal.
The purchase of an e-ticket also entails the waiver by the Passenger or the person purchasing the e-ticket of the provisions of article 1325 of the Civil Code. The consequence of this waiver is that, when an e-ticket is sold, the only original copy of the contract is in the SNCF Voyageurs computer system.
The e-ticket stored in the SNCF Voyageurs computer system, as well as all related data, are therefore proof, until proven otherwise, of the conclusion, content and performance of the contract. They therefore constitute evidence that is admissible, valid and enforceable against the Passenger under the same conditions and with the same evidential value as any document drawn up, received or kept on paper.
The integrity and reliability of the information contained in the SNCF Voyageurs computer system are obtained by the implementation of numerous technical means such as secure access to the said computer system, identification or authentication, traceability of any modification made to the transport ticket stored in the computer system and the implementation of technical security devices.
2.2. Purchase of Junior & Cie e-tickets
Junior & Cie e-tickets can be purchased via various channels:
- online at https://juniorcie.sncf-connect.com/
The Customer must create a customer account in order to purchase the Junior & Cie service. They must enter their contact details and those of the person(s) responsible for the child on arrival, as well as information about the child (first name, surname, gender, date of birth, any special needs). If the customer has a Carte Avantage Jeune, Adulte, Senior or Carte Liberté and wishes to benefit from the associated discount, they must also enter their card number.
This information is then pre-filled during the purchase process, once the journey has been searched for. This applies to all future Junior & Cie bookings.
It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that the information entered in the Customer Account is up to date before making any Junior & Cie reservation.
The Customer must pay by credit card.
- By telephone on 36 35 and enter #47 (free service + price of a call, excluding any operator surcharges, open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00).
If the Customer has not already created a customer account on the website before calling the Junior & Cie Centre, the telephone advisor will have to enter the Customer's contact details and those of the person(s) responsible for the child on arrival, as well as the information relating to the child (first name, surname, sex, date of birth, need for specific attention if applicable) before proceeding with the booking of the service. If the customer has a Carte Avantage Jeune, Adulte, Senior or a Carte Liberté, and wishes to benefit from the associated discount, the call centre agent will also need to enter the card number. This is valid for all future Junior & Cie bookings as long as the Customer has not created an account.
If the Customer has an account, it is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that the information provided in the Customer's account is up to date prior to any Junior & Cie reservation. In the event of a change, the Customer must inform the telephone advisor as soon as the telephone call begins.
The Customer must pay by credit card.
Regardless of the purchasing channel chosen, the purchase is followed by the sending to the Customer of an order confirmation to the email address provided when the service was purchased. The e-mail contains an attachment, in PDF format, of the e-ticket completed using the information provided by the Customer at the time of purchase.
This e-ticket will also be e-mailed to the person(s) responsible for collecting the child on arrival.
If the Customer has downloaded the Junior & Cie customer application, which is available and can be downloaded free of charge from the IOS and Android stores, they will also be able to consult their e-ticket there until the train departs.
Customers purchasing a ticket must ensure at the time of ordering that the ticket has been drawn up in accordance with their details, in particular the date and time, the origin and destination of the journey and the surname and first name of the passenger.
If the Customer wishes to delete their customer account, they may do so by telephone on 36 35 (toll-free, open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00).
2.3. E-ticket control for the Junior & Cie service
In order for the child to board the train, the person dropping off the child must be able to show the Junior & Cie e-ticket at the Junior & Cie check-in point on the day of departure to the Junior & Cie representative or an SNCF Voyageurs agent. This document is compulsory for travel.
Otherwise, the child will not be allowed to travel and will not be accepted on the train. If, despite this prohibition, the child is put on the train, Junior & Cie will not take charge of the child within the group and will not be held responsible for the child.
The e-ticket may be presented in the following ways, at the Customer's discretion:
Presentation of the printed e-ticket
The person dropping off the child may present the printed e-ticket.
The Customer can print (or reprint) their Junior & Cie e-ticket by going to the Junior & Cie booking website via their customer account or their confirmation email (document attached in PDF format) until the day of departure of the train.
The e-ticket must be printed in accordance with the conditions of this article. To be valid, the e-ticket must be printed on blank white A4 paper, without any change to the print size, in landscape format using a laser or inkjet printer with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
In the event of an incident or poor quality printing of the Junior & Cie e-ticket, the Customer must print it again.
Consequently, before ordering a Junior & Cie e-ticket, Customers wishing to print it must ensure that they have the necessary software and hardware configuration, i.e. a computer connected to the Internet and equipped with Acrobat Reader software and a laser or inkjet printer with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
The Customer must test, prior to ordering his/her Junior & Cie e-ticket, that the printer used allows it to be printed correctly. SNCF Voyageurs declines all responsibility in the event that the Customer is unable to print his/her Junior & Cie e-ticket due to non-compliance with the above provisions.
Presentation of the e-ticket on a smartphone
The person dropping off the child may present the Junior & Cie e-ticket on a smartphone:
- either by presenting the e-ticket sent as an attachment to the order confirmation e-mail.
- or by presenting the e-ticket downloaded via the Junior & Cie customer application.
2.4. Exchange and refund of the Junior & Cie e-ticket
Junior & Cie e-tickets can be exchanged and refunded up to 16 days before train departure. Between 15 days and 4 days inclusive before departure, a charge of 10 euros per child and per journey will be applied. It is neither exchangeable nor refundable after this period.
Customers can exchange or cancel their e-tickets by calling 36 35 (toll-free, open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00) or via their customer account on the Junior & Cie website.
The Customer guarantees that he/she is of legal age and capable. They are responsible for the information they provide when booking the Junior & Cie service. They also guarantee that they have parental authority over the child benefiting from the Junior & Cie service. Otherwise, he/she undertakes to obtain the necessary authorizations from the persons having authority over the child benefiting from the Junior & Cie service.
Once the Junior & Cie service has been booked, it is impossible to change the name of the child benefiting from the service, in particular for safety reasons. Only children aged 4 to 14 inclusive can benefit from this escort service. This service is available during school holidays and at weekends on the routes described in the commercial documentation relating to the service.
The Customer guarantees that the children for whom they wish to subscribe to the Junior & Cie service do not require any special care or medical assistance during the journey. In this respect, only children who are able to use the toilet independently will be taken care of, as the Junior & Cie staff will not be responsible for changing the children.
The Junior & Cie service is accessible to children with special needs (wheelchair, etc.) as long as the Customer has indicated at the time of purchase the type of attention the child(ren) require(s) and the Junior & Cie Centre has been able to ensure that the child(ren) receive(s) appropriate care. If this is not the case, the Junior & Cie Centre will inform the Client as soon as possible.
More generally, the Client undertakes to inform SNCF Voyageurs of any information of a medical nature or of any order likely to affect the safety or travelling conditions of the children.
It is also the Customer's responsibility to ensure prior to the journey that the person designated at the time of booking to collect the child is the person who will arrive at the arrival station. In the event of a change, the Customer must go to their customer account before D-4 to change the person(s) given. Between D-3 and the theoretical departure time of the train, the Customer no longer has the option of changing this information, but can add an additional person to collect the child.
On the day of departure, any child who does not have all the obligatory documents according to the situation and who has not been physically registered with the Junior & Cie service will not be authorised to travel and will not be accepted on board the train. If, despite this prohibition, the child is put on the train, the Junior & Cie service will not take charge of the child within the group and accepts no responsibility for the child.
The compulsory documents to be presented are
- The Junior & Cie e-ticket: presentation of the printed e-ticket or presentation of the e-ticket on the smartphone (either presentation of the e-ticket sent as an attachment to the order confirmation e-mail, or presentation of the e-ticket downloaded via the Junior & Cie customer application).
- Where applicable: the Carte Famille Nombreuse, the Carte Avantage Jeune, Adulte, Senior, or the Carte Liberté (if entitled to the associated discount).
Children benefiting from the Junior & Cie service and travelling outside France must be in possession of the documents required by the legislation and regulations in force to ensure their identification and movement.
If your child usually resides in France (regardless of nationality):
- Authorisation to leave the country: completed and signed form available by clicking here
- A copy of the signatory's identity document
- The child's identity document
If your child usually lives in Switzerland (whatever their nationality):
- A signed parental authorisation
- The child's identity document
Depending on the situation, it is the Customer's responsibility to :
- Check that the child has all the necessary travel documents.
- Ensure that the person dropping off the child at the departure station has the e-ticket to present at the check-in point and through any boarding gates.
- Notify the person picking up the child on arrival that his/her e-mail address will be sent to Junior & Cie, and therefore ensure that this person has given his/her consent for his/her data to be processed in the context of the Junior & Cie service.
- Notify the person responsible for collecting the child on arrival of the dates and times when they must be present to collect the child, as well as the obligation to present an official photo ID (national identity card, residence permit, passport or driving licence).
- Ensure that the person designated to collect the child when the booking is made has the e-ticket to go through any boarding gates on arrival and collect the child from the platform at the foot of the car.
- Ensure that the person designated to collect the child at the time of booking is over 18 and will be there to welcome the child.
- In addition to their telephone number, which must be contactable, they must also give the telephone number of the person(s) responsible for collecting the child, who must also be contactable, so that Junior & Cie can inform them of any event that may occur during the journey.
- To ensure that the child only has one piece of luggage weighing less than 10 kg and one additional small piece of hand luggage (such as a rucksack), provided that the child is capable of carrying them alone. Otherwise, the baggage may be refused or must be lightened before departure. Any other type of bulky item (sports equipment, scooter, etc.) will also be refused. Musical instruments are accepted on board provided they fit entirely in the child's rucksack or suitcase.
- Ensure that baggage does not contain any dangerous or valuable items (digital tablet, mobile phone, jewellery, etc.). SNCF Voyageurs accepts no responsibility in the event of theft or loss of these items.
- Ensure that the child does not carry any animals.
- Ensure that the child has a snack and a bottle of water for the journey.
The child(ren) and the person(s) responsible for their departure must be present at the Junior & Cie check-in desk 30 minutes or 1 hour before the departure of the train. The meeting time is indicated on the e-ticket.
It is compulsory for children to check in at the Junior & Cie check-in point. This procedure is essential in order to :
- Check that the child is on the list of children on the SNCF Voyageurs staff member's application.
- Check the compulsory documents.
- Check that the baggage weighs no more than 10 kg and that it is labelled.
- Check that there is a snack and bottle of water in the child's bag.
- Give the Junior & Cie cap to the child.
- Give the child the identification bracelet with the information filled in by hand by the SNCF Voyageurs staff member (child's first and last name, arrival station, train number). This bracelet is placed on the child's wrist by the person dropping off the child.
The person accompanying the child to the departure station must stay and look after the child until the train departs. If the train is cancelled, Junior & Cie may have to entrust the child to the person in charge until the train departs again. This person is responsible for the child until the departure of the train, at which time the Junior & Cie service will take charge of the child. The person responsible for the child must therefore accompany the child to the train. In stations with boarding gates, only one person may take the child through the gates.
At the arrival station, the child will be entrusted exclusively to the person or persons identified by the Customer at the time of booking and identified on the list of children found on the SNCF Voyageurs staff member's or agent's application, after an official identity document has been checked and photographed and the list has been electronically signed off. At the time of the identity check, the document presented by the person collecting the child may be kept until the child is actually handed over and the electronic signature on the list of children certifying that the child has been handed over.
The person collecting the child must also arrive at the meeting point indicated on the e-ticket 15 minutes before the train arrives at the station.
In stations equipped with boarding gates, only one of the persons designated by the Customer at the time of booking may pass through the gates to collect the child from the Junior & Cie carriage.
All of these conditions must be respected by the Customer. Failing this, the child will not be taken in charge by the Junior & Cie service, without this giving rise to reimbursement by SNCF Voyageurs of the service and/or any expenses whatsoever.

The fares for the child's ticket available on the Junior & Cie service are :
