Le futur TGV INOUI

Successful trials for the future TGV INOUI!

After two years of hard work, the certification tests for the future TGV INOUI are over! A major milestone that brings the train one step closer to commercial service in 2026.

Essential tests carried out in five phases

From static tests to dynamic tests

After the first phase of static tests to check the train's normal operation comes the dynamic testing phase, which assesses the safety, performance and comfort of the future TGV INOUI. These tests took place on the famous Velim track in the Czech Republic, where speeds of up to 140 km/h can be achieved.

To ensure the train's robustness, climatic tests were also carried out, to test the train's components and functions in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 45°C!

Before any new rolling stock is brought into service, around 24 months of testing are needed to ensure that it functions properly.

Time for tests on the French network

The train can finally begin its first tests on the French rail network. It's off to the start of a year of tests, with some very demanding checks. This phase includes certification tests - which comply with European standards - and qualification tests - which comply with the standards set out in the specifications.

In France, trains must comply with 54 standards to validate their tests.

Once these tests have been passed with flying colours, the train is authorised to run in pre-operational service by the Établissement Public de Sécurité Ferroviaire, a body independent of the SNCF group.

This is a decisive and crucial step that the future TGV INOUI has just taken.

    A committed team

For the certification and qualification tests on this fifth-generation TGV, a whole arsenal of expertise is being mobilised to ensure that it is ready for passenger service in 2026: the rolling stock engineering and project teams, the rail testing agency and its test specialists, the traction driver teams, etc.
